The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization of lay persons, founded in 1833 by Frederick Ozanam and his companions. The Society seeks in a spirit of justice and charity, and by person to person involvement, to help those in need.  It serves persons in need regardless of creed, opinion, color, caste and origin.
 

The St. Francis de Sales Conference makes appointments on Monday mornings with clients seeking assistance with rent, utilities, groceries, etc. These clients are interviewed and must meet certain criteria to qualify for assistance.  In addition, to truly help the poor break the cycle of poverty, additional contact information of other services is offered to encourage the person to seek further assistance.

St. Vincent de Paul Conference of St. Francis de Sales is a spiritual organization, praying with each of their clients prior to the interview.  The volunteers meet
on the fourth Monday of every month in the convent, beginning with a rosary at 6:15 in the convent, followed by a brief presentation by one of the members, with the meeting following.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to “strive to enter through the narrow gate.” Our call to be disciples and to follow Jesus demands that we learn to live for the sake of others. May we always keep the poor and suffering in our minds and in our prayers; and as Christians strive to share more in charity and live more simply.
