In compliance with the USCCB and the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, St. Francis de Sales Cathedral requires that all priests, deacons, religious and employees, as well as volunteers in any capacity are required to take the Safe Environment Training Course.
New to Training:
If you have never taken the training before, please visit the Diocesan Website: htdiocese.org and follow the instructions on the site for Safe Environment Training. You will be required to create an account , submit rerferences and complete a background check before beginning the training. All of the application and training is done on-line. Make note of your user name and password, as they will be required to have access to your account and to take the training again in the future.
You will be notified via email when your certificate has been issued. Please note: training is required every three (3) years.
Recurring Training:
If you have taken the course online before and are due for updating your training, please visit the Diocesan Website: htdiocese.org. or click the link below. You will receive your certificate via email.

Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux Safe Environment Training Site
In response to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is offering an Outreach Line (formerly known as the Child Protection Contact Line). The Outreach Line is an effort to continue the diocesan commitment to support healing for people who have been hurt or sexually abused recently or in the past by clergy, religious or other employees of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux Outreach Line operates from 8:30am to 4:30-pm, Monday thrrough Friday. A trained mental health professional responds to the line. Individuals are offered additonal assistance if requested.
